James R. Poggie

James R. Poggie, 53, of Ellington entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 11, 1967 in Hartford, CT and grew up in Enfield and resided in Ellington for the past 20 years. James was educated in Enfield Schools and the Baron Institute for Automotive. He owned and operated a livery service for 10 years, Gigi’s Limo. In his leisure time James enjoyed spending time with his daughter, going to Barrett-Jackson Auto Shows, the beach, cruise vacations with his family, he would go to The Big E everyday if he could, working on and driving his ’83 Camaro and helping his brother-in-law Jose work on his cars. James is survived by his loving family; father Daniel Poggie and step-mother Tami, mother Marguerite Darzentas, a daughter Gianna Poggie of Corpus Christi, TX, a sister Stacy Poggie-Carattini and husband Jose of Enfield, two brothers Victor Poggie and Matteo Poggie both of Enfield, along with his nieces and nephew; Ashley, Alayna, Antonio, and Angelina all of Enfield, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be missed by his dog and constant companion “Mondo”, close friends Chrissy & Arlen, Becky “Sunshine”, Debbie, Jeff & Cindy, Gail & Chris and Mandy and many, many more, along with his former wife and forever friend Heather. An opportunity to extend condolences to the family will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 2 to 5 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Mask and social distancing are required during that time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
