James Alaimo, Sr.

James J. Alaimo Sr. 92, of Enfield entered into eternal life on Thursday May 4, 2006 at his home. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to the late Rose (Cimino) Alaimo (May 13. 1997). James was born Feb. 19, 1914 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield son of the late Calogero and Maria (Alongi) Alaimo, a lifelong resident of Enfield. Mr. Alaimo was a self employed Real Estate Broker for many years, a former State Senate Index Clerk, and former Enfield Clerk of Courts. Jimmy was very involved in various organizations in his community, a founding member of the Enfield Lions Club, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 50, Enfield, former District #2 Chairman of the Enfield Democratic Town Committee, Chairman of the Enfield Planning Commission, former Secretary of the Enfield Society for the Detection of Thieves & Robbers, and a lifelong member & communicant, also former usher of St. Patrick's Church. <br>He is survived by his loving family; a son Atty. James J. Alaimo, Jr. of Enfield, a daughter, Martha S. Alaimo of Enfield, a daughter, Sandra A. Stiritz and her husband, Donald of Poway, CA, his seven beloved grandchildren; Paul Stiritz, Christine Beckman, Donna Arnold, Karen Lukowiak, James J. Alaimo, III, Leila DeForge and Peter DeForge, also 7 loving great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Carolyn Alaimo and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Benjamin and Patrick Alaimo, two sisters, Vinci Alaimo and Frances Fiore. <br>Funeral services in celebration of Jimmy's life will be held on Monday May 8, 2006 at 10am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Patrick's Church. Interment next to his beloved wife, Rose will take place in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery, Enfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday May 7, 2006 from 3 to 7pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to St. Patrick's Church 64 Pearl Street Enfield, CT 06082.<br>
