Jane Szczuka Obituary

Jane T. (Gudlewski) Szczuka, 84, of Enfield, entered into eternal life after a long illness on Friday October 16, 2009 at the Western Mass Hospital, Westfield, MA. Jane was the widow of Mitchell Szczuka.
She was born on May 8, 1925 in Enfield, CT a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Piasecki) Gudlewski and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. Before retiring many years ago Jane was a longtime employee of Hallmark Cards, Inc., in Enfield. She was a lifetime member of St. Adalbert's Church.
Jane is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Robin Szczuka of West Springfield, MA and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her siblings, Walter Klaus, Adela Klaus, Joseph Gudlewski and John Gudlewski.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather during calling hours on Tuesday Oct. 20, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Oct. 21, with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels to St. Adalbert's Church 90 Alden Ave. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial followed by interment in St. Adalbert's Cemetery. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association of CT 45 Ash St. East Hartford, CT 06108-2372.
