Jennie T. (MaGuire) Owens, 88, of Enfield, entered into eternal life, on Thursday April 9, 2015 at the Suffield House. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Owens. Jennie was born on October 8, 1926 in Lowell, MA, the daughter of the late Robert and Sarah (Doherty) MaGuire and was educated in Lowell, MA. She had resided in Enfield for over 40 years and in W. Springfield, MA before that. Prior to retiring she was employed for 10 years with Dunkin Donuts in Agawam, MA. Jennie loved her life in Enfield and spending time with her loving family. She very much appreciated the kind, compassionate and wonderful care she received from the staff of nurses and aides on B Wing at the Suffield House. Jennie is survived by a son; Thomas Owens & wife Elaine of Enfield, a daughter; Kathy Owens & husband John of Chicopee, MA, her four beloved grandchildren; Thomas, Timothy, Todd, Kristen, six great grandchildren; Trisha, Thomas, Emily, Peter, Pandora & Erin, and a great- great grandson Gunner James. She is also survived by a sister; Anna O’Rourke of Lowell, MA along with many niece, nephews and cousins. Jennie was also predeceased by a grandson; John Washburn, four sisters and two brothers. A Memorial Service in celebration of Jennie’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday April 12, 2015 at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, her family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Paucatuck Cemetery in W. Springfield, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial donation in her name may be made to the Suffield House (Resident Recreation Fund), 1 Canal Rd. Suffield, CT 06078.
