John Prajzner

John S. Prajzner, entered into eternal life on, Thursday December 27, 2007, the day after his 94th birthday at his home in Enfield. He was born on December 26, 1913 in Amsterdam, NY a son of the late Stanislaw and Helena (Korona) Prajzner, after John was born his family moved to Poland and resided there the first 20 years of his life before moving back to the United States and settling in Enfield. He was the beloved husband of 64 years to the late Mary A. (Panek) Prajzner who passed on Nov. 18, 2005. Prior to retiring in 1976 John was employed for many years with Hamilton Sundstrand in Windsor Locks and before that with Colt Firearms, Hartford. John enjoyed the outdoor activities of maintaining the yard and gardening. A generous, kind and giving man with a warm heart, John was always there to help relatives and friends in the time of need. He was an active member of the National Polish Home and St. Adalbert's Church. John is survived by his beloved family, a daughter, Jane Prajzner of Wethersfield, three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Brenda Prajzner of Enfield, John R. and Donna of Enfield and Stephen and Jill Prajzner of New Salem, MA, and a daughter-in-law, Linda of Enfield, his seven grandchildren, Bob Prajzner, Kristen Prajzner, Stephanie and Mitchell Griswold, Cheryl and Michael Straub, Cynthia Prajzner, Edward Jr., and Shawna Prajzner, Tammy and Erik Melhorn, his six great grandchildren, Nicholas, Breanna, Duane, Tyler, Kaleb and Brady. He is also survived by a sister, Ludwika Boczar of Enfield along with many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a son, Robert Prajzner and a sister, Stephanie Maslanka. Funeral services in celebration of John's life will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2008 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Adalbert's Church, Enfield. Interment will follow in St. Adalbert's Cemetery. John's family will receive relatives and friends prior to the services from 9:00 to 10:30 am at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd.
