Joseph F. Gannuscio, 73 of Enfield passed away unexpectedly surrounded by loved ones on Wed. April 19, 2006 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs. Joseph was the beloved husband of 42 years to the late Marion (Minutillo) Gannuscio who passed in 2002. He was born on Sept. 11, 1932 in Enfield, CT, son of the late Bernardo and Bernardine (Sicola) Gannuscio. He spent the first 57 years in Enfield and S. Hadley before moving to Florida for the past 15 years. Joseph served his country honorably with the US Army during the Korean War stationed in Japan in the 7th Cavalry. Prior to his retirement in 1991 he was employed by Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co., Big Y and Shop Rite Supermarkets. Joseph is survived by his two sisters, Mary (Gannuscio) Neptopski and Rosalie (Gannuscio) Bakes both of Enfield, a brother, Vincent Gannuscio and his wife, Antonina of Middletown, his stepson, James Sussman of Tampa, FL along with several nieces, nephews and step-grand children. Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by a brother, Saverio Gannuscio. Funeral services in celebration of Joseph's life will be held on Saturday April 22, 2006 a procession will form at 10am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Patrick's Church, Enfield, followed by military honors. Joseph's family will receive relatives and friends at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels on Friday April 21 from 5 to 8pm. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Florida National Cemetery Bushnell, FL. Memorial donations in his memory maybe made to the American Lung Association Assoc. 45 Ash St. E.
