Joseph “Joe” S. Piecewicz, 96, of Maynard, Massachusetts, beloved husband of the late Helen T. (Maciejewski) Piecewicz, died peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Residence in Enfield, Connecticut. Born on February 14, 1915, in Cambridge, Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Piecewicz. Joe had been a lifelong resident of Maynard and a graduate of Maynard High School. He and his wife moved to Enfield eight years ago. He was employed as a machinist with the former Reece Corporation in Waltham for thirty-five years, retiring in 1979. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WW II. He was an avid collector and enjoyed fixing things. Joe also enjoyed spending time walking on the beach in Cape Cod. He took great pride in his home and was proud that he lived there for fifty-two years. He is survived by his children; Thomas J. Piecewicz and his wife, Julie of Foxboro, MA, Sister Nancy Piecewicz, CSSF., of Enfield, CT and Susan C. Daniliuk and her husband, David of Maynard, MA; six grandchildren, Peter and David Piecewicz, Patricia Snow, and Nicole, Erik and Craig Daniliuk; his sister, Helen Holt of Dennis, MA; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Piecewicz, and his brothers, Stanley Piecewicz and John Pierce. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 beginning at 12:00 noon at St. Joseph’s Residence in Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Chapel. A private burial will be held at St. Bridget Cemetery in Maynard, Massachusetts.
