Joseph "Reil" LaCroix

Joseph “Reil” LaCroix, 80, of Enfield, CT & Palm Bay, FL, passed away on Wednesday April 22, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. He was the beloved husband of 35 years to the late Pauline H. (Hannah) LaCroix. Reil was born on Sept. 29, 1934 in Hardwick, VT, the son of the late Rosarie and Yvette (Ducharme) LaCroix. He had resided in Enfield for 43 years and in Palm Bay, FL for 7 years. He served his country proudly with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Reil retired from Edwards Supermarkets, and was also employed by Food Mart, along with owning & operating his own businesses; Budget Foods and Reil’s Spirit Shop. He was a member of the Enfield Elks Lodge, American Legion Tanguay-Magill Post # 80 and St. Martha’s Church. Reil enjoyed spending time with his family and trips to the casinos. Reil is survived by his three loving daughters; Marie LaCroix Jackson & husband Robert of Enfield, Laurie Meehan & husband Peter of W. Suffield, CT and Suzanne Lewis & husband Chuck of W. Suffield, CT, a son Kevin LaCroix of Cocoa Beach, FL, his five beloved grandchildren; Amanda Lewis, Ryan Lewis, Peter Meehan, Ashley Meehan and Chase LaCroix. Reil is also survived by his twin sister; Alice Kidder & husband Ned of Palm Bay, FL, a sister; Adeline Hacket & Ken of Palm Bay, FL and a brother; Auther LaCroix & wife Debbie of Pelham, NH, many nieces & nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also predeceased by a sister; Annette Mayette. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling on Friday April 24, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 25, 2015 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Martha Church, Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart/Stroke Association, P.O. Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005.
