Judith “Judy” A. (Keough) Metzler, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal life, at the age of 73, on Wednesday Feb. 19, 2014. She was the beloved wife to Robert W. Metzler, Jr. for 51 years. Judy was born on January 7, 1941 in Brockton, MA, the daughter of the late James H. and Edna M. (Canham) Keough. She had resided in Enfield for the past 36 years and in Clinton before that. Judy was a loving & devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her priority in life was caring for her family and home. She was also a very dedicated caregiver of her mother for many years. Judy was a communicant of Holy Family Church where she was an active member in the church choir she also participated with the Senior Citizen’s Gold Tones and Enfield Community Chorus. While living in Ohio Judy was a former past president of the North Central Ohio Welcome Wagon, and was formerly active with the Enfield High Band Parents Assoc. for over 10 yrs. Besides her husband Bob, she is survived by her children Robert W. Metzler, III & wife Sherry of Manchester, Theresa A. O’Neill & husband James of Ellington, James E. Metzler & wife Debra of Manchester, Sandra A. O’Brien & husband John of South Windsor and Sherryl E. Panosky & husband Paul of Port Charlotte, FL, her 19 cherished grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother James Keough of Boynton Beach, FL, along with 3 nieces 2 nephews and several cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a brother Raymond Keough. Relatives and friends may gather during calling hours on Friday (Feb. 21,) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. The funeral procession will form on Saturday (Feb. 22,) at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home to Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield for a 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery in Enfield. The family has requested memorial donations in her memory be made to the Felician Adult Day Care, 1333 Enfield St. Enfield, CT 06082.
