Judith (Post) Parrow Obituary

Jude Post-Parrow, 45, of Enfield, CT died unexpectedly in Warwick, Rhode Island on Monday, April 2, 2012. She left our world peacefully and with dignity surrounded by loved ones. Her friends and family will remember Jude (Bunny) as a beautiful, gentle, loving daughter, sister, friend and significant other. We could always count on her to be patient and kind. She was not jealous or boastful. She protected and trusted. She was the model for us of what unconditional love could and should be. Jude accepted new people into her life joyfully and willingly. She opened her heart with courage and faith and saw only the best in everyone she met. Jude was a gift and a teacher to all who knew her. Jude grew up in Enfield, attended Enfield High School and graduated from Bay Path College. Most recently, Jude’s exceptional empathy and kindness was put to use in her professional life as she worked with low-income tenants to find new housing. Jude served her clients with the attention to detail, compassion and tenacity for justice that had defined her all her life. Jude would want us to rejoice in her life. She would be humble in accepting our praise. And she would adamantly seek to comfort us with Mary Elizabeth Frye’s words: Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft star-shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die. Jude will be forever remembered by her loving family and friends; her father Edmund B. Post of Enfield; mother Beth H. Dragon, of Greenville, SC; former husband of 20 years Richard R. Parrow, Sr. of Enfield; brothers, Mathew N. Post and wife Elizabeth, Daniel J. Post and wife Kristen all of Enfield; maternal grandparents, Sam Houston and wife Judy of Venice, FL; Lutgarda L. Houston of Pitttsford, NY; stepchildren; Richard R. Parrow , Jr. of East Otis, MA and Ronald Parrow of Enfield; special friend, Joseph Griffin and many nieces, nephews, aunts uncles and cousins. Jude was predeceased by her sister-in-law; Norma Dodd Post, step-mother, Theresa Post and step-father Gene Dragon. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Pastor Greg Stokes will officiate. Jude’s family will receive friends prior to the service from11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A lifetime animal lover, Jude would encourage donations to your local Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
