Katherine “Kay” J. (Kozaczka) Rodzen, 90, of Enfield, went to join her beloved husband of 57 years Harry E. Rodzen (11/20/2007) in Heaven on Friday (August 27, 2010). Katherine was born on January 29, 1920 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield a daughter of the late John and Julia (Portenski) Kozaczka, she grew up and attended local elementary schools and was a graduate of Enfield High School. Kay was a lifelong resident of the Enfield community. Prior to her retirement she was employed for many years with the Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. and as a caregiver for she was always taking care of loved ones. Kay was an avid UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball and Red Sox fan. Her greatest joy in life was time spent with her husband, Harry and family. She is survived by her beloved brother Joseph J. Kozaczka and loving niece Julia Stahlhut of NY, a sister-in-law Josephine Kozaczka and friends. Along with her husband and parents she was predeceased by two brothers Edmund and John Kozaczka and a sister and brother-in-law Jane and Frank Rostkowski and sister-in-law Carmy Kozaczka. Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Evergreen Healthcare for the exceptional and compassionate care given Katherine during her time there. Friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Tuesday (August 31, 2010) from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Adalbert’s Church and interment will take place in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Adalbert’s Church 90 Alden Ave. Enfield, CT 06082.
