Kenneth R. Cote, 78, of Sarasota, FL and formerly of Enfield, CT, entered in to eternal rest, with his loving family at his side, on Saturday Feb. 25, 2017 at Inspired Living at Lakewood Ranch in Bradenton, FL. Kenneth was born on Jan. 28, 1939 in Enfield, CT, to the late Ledger F. and Pearl B. (Southiere) Cote. He was a member of the Air National Guard. Prior to retiring Ken was employed for many years with Combustion Engineering in Windsor, then with Mass Mutual and Travelers Insurance companies. Besides his wife of 53 years, Margaret “Peg” (Cooper) Cote, he leaves his three children; Lisa Peterson & husband Mark of Linden VA, David Cote & wife Silvana Jiménez Polo of Seminole FL, and Robert Cote & wife Cheryl of Falls Church VA, his beloved grandchildren; Sophie Cote, Sarah Peterson, Kenneth Cote, Rebecca Peterson, Elizabeth Peterson and Gail Peterson. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Jeanne Basile, William Cote, Carol Hines, Diane Rosenberg, and Cheryl Karcz, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his brothers Gerald Cote, Raymond Cote and sister, Ruth Connelly. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Thursday March 2, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Friday March 3, 2017 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Patrick Church, 64 Pearl Street, Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Followed by interment with military honors in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery in Enfield.
