LaFranchise Stephen

Stephen E. LaFranchise, Sr. 62, of Enfield, CT, beloved husband of Diane L. (Olesen) LaFranchise, entered in to eternal rest Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at Blair Manor, Enfield. He was born on December 20, 1946 in Winsted, CT, Stephen was the son of the late Edward LaFranchise, Sr. and Jane (Mamary) Mohr. He graduated from Enfield High School Class of 1965 and attended Springfield Technical College for 2 years. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Stephen was stationed in Germany where he served as a member of the Military Police. He was employed in security for 25 years with Hamilton Standard of Windsor Locks, CT and then with security for Loomis Chaffee School, Windsor, CT for 6 years, he also owned and operated his own landscaping company. Stephen was an avid Yankee's fan. Besides his wife Diane, Stephen a loving father and doting grandfather is survived by his children, Stephen E. LaFranchise, Jr. and Kelly Vene and husband, Kenny all of Enfield, his two grandchildren, Tyler and Madison Vene the pride & joy of his life and with whom he spent as much time as possible. He also leaves his sisters, Susan Santangelo and husband, John of Enfield and Debby Carrier and husband, Bill of Florida, his brother, David LaFranchise of West Springfield, a brother-in-law, Arthur Olesen and wife, Linda of Enfield and a sister-in-law, Joanne Lajoie of Enfield along with many nieces and nephews and his step-father, John Mohr of Enfield. His family would like to extend special thanks to Loomis Chaffee School, Windsor, CT, Dr. Morgan and the Home and Community Health Services, Inc. Hospice Program. A private Graveside Service with military honors will be held at the convenience of his family in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 538 Preston Ave. P.O. Box 1004 Meriden, CT 06450-1004.
