LaRue B. Ward, of Enfield, entered into eternal life at the age of 68, on Monday (September 23, 2013) at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Ctr., Hartford. She was the wife of 34 years to the late Thomas E. Ward (2000). LaRue was born on Nov. 12, 1944 in Millvale, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Young) Bodnar-Atkinson. She had resided in Enfield since 1976 and in Pittsburgh, PA before that. Prior to retiring she was employed by Hartford Hospital as a billing specialist for 15 years. LaRue was a member of St. Martha Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and former director of the CCD Progam. In her leisure time she enjoyed traveling, the theatre, dancing, loved flowers and gardening, but her greatest joy was being with family during the special occasions and holidays. She is survived by her two children: Kimberly Meyer & her husband Jeremie of Enfield and Brian Ward & Kevin Hunt of New York, NY, step-father: Ronald Atkinson, her sister; Yvonne Leicher & Neil Hastings of Athol, MA and brother-in-law: James Ward & his wife Jayne of St. Joseph, MI. Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Thursday (September 26, 2013) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Friday (September 27, ) at 9:00 a.m. to St. Martha Church 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
