Laurie Agnes Scovill, 41, of Enfield, died peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at St. Francis in Hartford. Born in Hartford on June 10, 1971, Laurie was the daughter of Ronald L. and Linda (Russell) Scovill, Jr. A lifelong resident of Enfield, Laurie was a graduate of Fermi High School. In 1999 she earned her Associate of Arts degree in General Studies from Asnuntuck Community College. Laurie was employed by New Directions as a receptionist for twelve years and made many friends there. Throughout her life, Laurie overcame the challenges of being born with Spina Bifida. She became a very loving person who had a passion for life and those surrounding her. Laurie especially loved her dog, Lucky. Her favorite color was brown and she incorporated that into her daily outfits. Laurie is survived by her loving parents, Ronald L. and Linda (Russell) Scovill, Jr., of Enfield; her sister, Kelli Petrone and her husband, Michael of Enfield; three nephews, Joseph and Thomas Petrone, James Scovill, and her niece, Megan Petrone. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins; her Godparents, Donald and Joan Russell; as well as her cousin and best friend, Melissa Hamel. Laurie was predeceased by her brother, Ronald L. Scovill, III in 2008. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 by 9:00 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels for a procession to St. Martha Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Hazardville Cemetery in Enfield. Laurie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082.
