Leo Bocwinski Obituary

Leo A. Bocwinski, 73 of Enfield entered peacefully into Eternal Life on Tues Feb. 21, 2006 at his home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. Leo was predeceased by his beloved wife of 46 years Irene M. (Orcinoli) Bocwinski on Feb. 22, 2001. He was born on June 19, 1932 in Binghamton, NY the son of the late Leo C. and Barbara (Barnack) Bocwinski and had resided in Enfield most of his life. Leo was a graduate of Enfield High School Class of 1949 after high school he served his country honorably with the U.S. Air Force. He was a 10 year member of the Enfield Fire Dept. and served as a Lieutenant and Commissioner, he was also a coach for the Thompsonville Little League and Enfield Hockey Association, and was a communicant of St. Adalbert's Church. Leo enjoyed fishing, carpentry work, gardening, the RI South Shore Beaches, an avid fan of the UCONN Huskies Women's Basketball Team and the Boston Red Sox. Leo is survived by his three sons, Stephen Paul Bocwinski & his wife, Nancy of Longmeadow, MA, Christopher John Bocwinski & his wife, Roxanne, and Leo A. Bocwinski, Jr. & his wife, Cheryl all of Enfield, his four beloved grandchildren, Nichole Lynne, Michael Anthony, Samantha Erin and Eric Stephen Bocwinski. He is also survived by his three sisters, Irene Provencher and Bernice Buvarsky both of Enfield and Joan DeRonck of Belchertown, MA along with many nieces, nephews and cousins, his Special Friend, Frances Cassotta, and his best friends, Frank Korona and Fr. Anthony Bruno. The Bocwinski family would like to extend special thanks to the St. Francis Cancer Center & Hospice for the wonderful care and special attention given to Leo during his illness. Funeral services in celebration of Leo's life will be held on Friday Feb. 24, 2006 at 9:00am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Adalbert's Church, Enfield. Interment with military honors will take place in St. Adalbert's Cemetery. The Bocwinski family will receive relatives and friends on Thurs Feb. 23, from 4 to 8pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels.
