Of Longmeadow—Lillian M. (Ferranti) Gonnelli, 94, beloved wife of the late Tullio Gonnelli, died peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Mansfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in West Springfield on September 4, 1919, Lillian was the daughter of the late Anthony and Angelina (Cavicchi) Ferranti. Lillian was a graduate of West Springfield High School. She resided Longmeadow for over fifty years and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. Lillian owned and operated Ferranti’s Liquor Store in West Springfield. Lillian enjoyed travel throughout Europe and vacations in Ogunquit, Maine with her family. She had a great love for animals, especially her poodle, “Joy”. In her leisure time, Lillian enjoyed needle craft, rug making and cooking. She is survived by her beloved son, Paul Gonnelli and his wife, Linda of Chaplin, CT; her brother, John Ferranti of Holyoke, MA; sister, Elizabeth Dorman of Longmeadow, MA; three grandchildren, Ajay Gonnelli, Christian Gonnelli and Jessica Trant. She was predeceased by her son, Mark Gonnelli who died on March 11, 2006. Family and friends will gather at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 by 12:00 noon for a procession to St. Mary Church in Longmeadow where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Longmeadow Cemetery. Lillian’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082. Memorial donations may be made to Massachusetts Humane Society, 87 Wharf St Weymouth, MA 02189.
