Linda Shirtcliff Obituary

Linda (Jean) Shirtcliff, 51, of Enfield, beloved wife of 32 years to Douglas E. Shirtcliff entered into Eternal Life on Sunday Nov. 6, 2005 surrounded by loved ones at Evergreen Healthcare, Stafford Springs. She was born on Oct. 11, 1954 in Fall River, MA the daughter of Joseph A. and Jeannette (Lessard) Jean of Port St. Lucie, FL. Linda attended Enrico Fermi High School and was a member of the first graduating Class of 1972 and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. During her years of employment Linda worked for many years with ShopRite Supermarkets as deli clerk and manager, for 7 years with Hallmark Cards and then temporary assignments through Addecco. She enjoyed playing bingo and crocheting.
Linda a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt was always the caregiver and would help anyone that crossed her path. A true lover, giver and believer of life will be greatly missed. Besides her husband, Doug, Linda is survived by her four loving children; Erin Shirtcliff, Brian Shirtcliff, Korey Shirtcliff and Brendan Shirtcliff all of Enfield, and her beloved granddaughter, Alexis Marshall.
Along with her parents, Joseph & Jeannette Jean, she is also survived by a sister, Carol Lytwyn of Palm Bay, FL, a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph & Sharon Jean of Enfield, a sister and brother-in-law, Claire & Jimmy Williams of Bristol and a brother and sister-in-law, Paul & Gail Jean also of Bristol, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services in celebration of Linda's life will be held on Wed. Nov. 9, 2005 at 9:00am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield. Interment will take place in the Hazardville Cemetery at the convenience of her family. Linda's family will receive relatives and friends on Tues. Nov. 8 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Memorial donations in Linda's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 538 Preston Ave. P.O. Box 1004 Meriden, CT 06450-1004.
