Lois J. (Martin) Capwell, 76 of Enfield passed from this life on Tuesday Oct. 16, 2007 in Suffield. Lois was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Holden B. Capwell. She was born on May 23, 1931 in Fall River, MA a daughter of the late Frederick and Edith (Wall) Martin and had resided in Enfield for the past 50 years. Prior to retiring Lois was employed with Southern Auto Auction, E. Windsor, CT for several years. She was a member of The General Society of Mayflower Descendants. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing bingo and was a longtime standing Boston Red Sox fan. Lois and Holden researched, wrote and published 2 volumes on the history of the Capwell family. She leaves many fond memories of which her loving family will always cherish. Lois is survived by a daughter, Deborah Freehan & her husband Stephen of Milford MA, a daughter, Cathy Madison & her husband Frederick of Winsted CT, a daughter, Carol Capwell & her companion Arthur Murphy of Enfield CT and a son, James Capwell & his wife Jane of Pittsfield ME, her six beloved grandchildren; Joshua, Todd & Stephanie Freehan, Denielle Delaney, and Lucian & Cheyenne Maragnano and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Muriel Pierce of Auburn, MA. <br>In honoring Lois's wishes there will be no calling hours. A Graveside service will take place on Saturday Oct. 20, 2007 at 10:30 am in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. BROWNE MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPELS 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT has been entrusted with her arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Enfield Loaves & Fishes P.O. Box 544 Enfield, CT 06083-0544.
