Loren E. Reed, 83, of Enfield passed from his earthly journey to eternal rest in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday (Sept. 14, 2010). He was the beloved husband of 30 yrs to Judith (Simpson) Sauve-Reed and 32 yrs to the late Patricia (Gifford) Reed, also son of the late Earl N. and Emogene (Hudson) Reed. Loren was born on Dec. 26, 1926 in Springfield, MA. He was a graduate of Enfield High School Class of 1944 and then attended drafting school at Colonial School of Tool Designe. He had resided for many years in Springfield, MA, Barefoot Bay, FL for 13 yrs and in Enfield, CT. Loren served his country honorably with the U.S. Army from 1945- 46 in Italy during WW II. Prior to retiring in 1987 Loren was employed for 25 yrs with Hamilton Standard/UTC. In his leisure time he enjoyed reading, painting, woodworking and gardening, he also loved the outdoors and all things related to nature. Loren was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Springfield for many years. Besides his wife, Judith he is survived by his loving children; Holly Reed of Los Gatos, CA, Carol Reed of Longmeadow, MA, Bradford Reed & wife Susan of Sunnyvale, CA, Jonathan Reed & wife Elizabeth of Irvine, CA, Janice Buckelew & husband James of Gypsum, CO, Matthew Reed & wife Kathleen of South Windsor, CT, his step-children: R. Scott Sauve & wife Cynthia of Newmarket, NH, Heather Sauve of Dewey, AZ, Jennifer Burnelis & husband Frank of Kearneysville, WV, and Hillary Gonyea & husband Gerry of Enfield, CT, his 18 beloved grandchildren; Sean & Bethany Lynch, Jason Budlong, Aaron Lerch, Madison & Nathan Reed, Kevin & Keith Buckelew, Sean, Jackson, Luke, Grace & Morgan Reed, Brett & Katelyn Sauve, Jessica Koelher, Samantha & Mackenzie Gonyea and 2 great grandchildren; Braden Lynch and Owen Koelher. He is also survived by a brother Harold Reed of Ellington, CT and his twin sister Lila Laura of Hadley, MA along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by a daughter Anne Reed-Sehon and two brothers Earl and David Reed. Funeral services and interment in Springfield, Cemetery in Springfield, MA will be private at the convenience of his family. Memorial donations in his memory maybe made to the Home & Community Health Services, Inc Hospice Program P.O. Box 1199 Enfield, CT 06083-1199. Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd.
