Louis Perillo

Louis “Lou” Perillo, of Enfield entered peacefully into Eternal Life at the age of 82, on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 with his family by his side, at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Mabel (Chapman) Perillo, and son of the late Raphael and Angelina (Guerriero) Perillo. Lou was born on January 31, 1930 in Bronx, NY and resided in Enfield for over 40 years. Lou served in the US Navy from 1951 – 1956 as a Disbursing Clerk aboard the USS Kermit Roosevelt. From there he worked for Allstate Insurance, and went on to co-own A&L Data Processing Company. He retired in 1993, but continued to work part time for Smyth Bus in Enfield as a school bus driver. He was known to all the children he drove as ‘Luigi’. In 2003, he retired for good, to enjoy time with his wife and family. Lou and his wife traveled often and he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. His love for his family was followed by his love for sports. Besides his wife Mabel, Lou is survived by his son, Jeff Perillo and his wife Blanche of Vernon, CT, his son Mike Perillo of Plainville, CT, his daughter Gina (Perillo) Sullivan and her husband Mike of Enfield, CT and his beloved grandsons, Michael Perillo II, Jake and Anthony Sullivan. He is also survived by his brother Donald Perillo and wife Jean of Scottsdale, AZ along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lou’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the Cardiac ICU at St. Francis Hospital for their considerate and compassionate care and support. Relatives and friends may gather with his family for a 2:30 pm Memorial Service Sunday (May 6, 2012) at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Calling hours will be prior to the service beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lou’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. www.brownefuneralhome.com
