Loyd A. Tarr, 75 of Enfield passed peacefully, with his loving family by his side, into eternal rest on Wednesday January 7, 2009 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Jean (Walker) Tarr. Loyd was born on December 11, 1933 in Lisbon Falls, ME, son of the late Richard and Ruth (Allen) Tarr. He had resided in Enfield since 1958 and in Maine before that. He proudly served our country honorably with the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Loyd owned & operated his own consulting firm M & T Contractors for over 25 years and in his later years was still actively involved in a consulting career with Evans Cooling Systems of Enfield. He got his greatest joy out of life spending time with his family, especially attending and watching his grandchildren's sporting events. His goal in life was to help other people whenever he could. Besides his wife, Jean, Loyd is survived by his 2 daughters; Kelly T. Cireillo and fiancé Daniel Hibbard of Sturbridge, MA and Laurie T. Dehm and her husband, Joel of Somers, CT, his four beloved grandchildren; Kerri Dehm, Ryan Ciriello, Stephen Dehm and Brittany Dehm. He is also survived by a brother; Maurice Tarr and his wife, Sue of Pitkins, SC, along with many nieces and nephews. Loyd was also predeceased by three brothers, Orison Tarr, Kenneth Fowler and Gerald Tarr and a sister, Harriette Fowler. Funeral services in celebration of Loyd life will be held on Sunday January 11, 2009 at 12:30 pm with the Rev. Gary Bragg officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday January 10, 2009 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of his family. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation CT Chapter 126 Monroe Turnpike Trumbull, CT 06611.
