Marianne Gutska-Barnett

Marianne D. (Devoti) Gutska-Barnett, of Enfield entered into eternal life at the age of 76 on Monday (March 11, 2013) at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. She was the beloved wife of John Bruce Barnett and daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Positano) Devoti. Marianne was born on March 13, 1937 in Bristol, CT and had resided most of her life in Enfield. Prior to retiring she was employed for many years with Pete’s Auto Body. In her leisure time she enjoyed arts and crafts, had a passion for painting and was an UCONN Huskies basketball fan. Besides her husband Bruce, she is survived by her six children; Lynn D’Angelo & husband Tony of Enfield, Gregory Gutska & wife Karen of Somerville, Dawn Rancourt & husband Mike of Enfield, Richard Gutska & wife Kathleen of Enfield, Marianne Maruca & husband Mark of Enfield and Peter Gutska of Cromwell, her beloved grandchildren; Katie, Teresa, Bradley, Sharon, Michael, Derrick, Stephen, Christina, Nicole, Brian, Nick, Devon, Brendon and Melissa, and 10 great grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister; Julie Devoti of FL, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marianne was predeceased by her first husband George Gutska. Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Friday (March 15, 2013) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will take place on Saturday (March 16, 2013) with the funeral procession forming at 9 a.m. at the funeral home to St. Patrick Church for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at the convenience of her family in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association of CT 45 Ash St. East Hartford, CT 06108-3272.
