Marie Cheverie

Marie Louise (Carroll) Cheverie 83 of Enfield entered into the peace of God's infinite mercy on Tuesday August 21, 2007. Marie was born in Boston MA October 28, 1923 the daughter of the late William and Mary (Hayes) Carroll. She was a graduate of Hyde Park High School class of 1941 and a graduate of Boston University class of 1950. She was formerly employed as an executive secretary for the former Mason Neilan Regulator Co. in Dorchester MA .Marie was a WW II Veteran serving her country honorably in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1949.Marie was an Enfield resident for fifty years. She was a member of St. Martha's Church and was the first parish secretary. She was also the former secretary to St. Martha's Home and School association a member of St. Martha's guild and active for many years with St. Martha's C.C.D program. She was a member of The National American Legion and a former member of Post 80 American Legion Enfield. Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband James ( Jim ) Cheverie Jr. in 1991. She is survived by her beloved family; a son, James S. Cheverie III of East Hartford, two daughters, Trish Cheverie of Enfield and Marianne Wentworth of East Hartford, two grandsons, Andrew & Matthew Wentworth and a granddaughter, Hannah Carroll Wentworth. She is also survived by a brother and sister in-law, William F. Jr. and Arlene Carroll of Weymouth MA, a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and George F. Dillon of Milton MA and a foster brother, Joseph W. Kelsey of Brookline MA <br>Funeral services in celebration of Marie's life will be held on Friday Aug. 24, at 9:00 AM from BROWNE MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPELS 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Martha's Church. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00Pm at Browne Memorial Chapels. Memorials donations may be made to St. Martha's Church 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield CT 06082. <br>
