Marie C. Guminiak, 81 of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Wednesday December 9, 2009 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs. Marie was the beloved wife of 51 years to John M. Guminiak and daughter of the late Harold and Catherine (Kindiline) Verity. She was born on July 15, 1928 in Norwalk, CT and had resided in Enfield for the past 51 years. A registered nurse Marie worked for many years with the Norwalk Visiting Nurses and Enfield Visiting Nurses, also as school Nurse at St. Adalbert's School in Enfield. A parishioner of St. Adalbert's Church she was actively involved with many of the church and school functions and events. In her leisure time she enjoyed knitting and was a great cook spending the day in the kitchen making her favorite dishes. Marie was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother her life revolved around her family. Besides her beloved husband, John Marie is survived by a son, Gary Guminiak & his wife, Bozena of Suffield and twin sons, John M. Guminiak, Jr. and Glen Guminiak both of Enfield, her three beloved grandchildren, Alex, Stephanie and Matthew they were her love & joy and she took such great pride in attending & seeing their various sports events. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Parsons of Kent, CT and many nieces and nephews, along with her sister-in-law Stella Cybulski & her husband, Alex and their daughter, Lynn who were her extended family and a big part of her life. Marie was predeceased by a brother, Harold Verity and a sister, Margaret Piania.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 (Noon) in St. Adalbert's Church. Burial will take place in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Enfield.
