Marie Jones

Marie T. (Spring) Jones, 76, of Enfield, beloved wife of the late Charles J. Jones, Jr., died unexpectedly on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born on September 26, 1936 in New Britain, Connecticut, Marie was the daughter of the late John and Marie (Scanlon) Spring. A longtime resident of Enfield, Marie formerly resided in New Britain and was a communicant of St. Martha Church. She was a graduate of the Mary Immaculate Academy in New Britain and the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. Marie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston College in 1959. She was employed with the Enfield Ambulatory Care Center for over twenty years and retired in 2002; and previously employed by St. Francis School of Nursing and the New Britain VNA. Marie enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Charles and together they traveled throughout Europe and enjoyed their visits to Aruba. She especially enjoyed spending summers in North Truro with family and friends. Marie is survived by her sons, Michael C. Jones and Brian P. Jones both of Enfield; her brother, Kevin R. Spring and his wife, Nancy of Southington; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John A. Spring, Jr. Family and friends will gather on Thursday, November 29, 2012 by 10:15 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels for a procession to St. Martha Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Marie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082.
