Obituary for Marie R. (Violette) Martin

Marie R. (Violette) Martin, of Enfield, passed from her earthly journey at the age of 78 and went on to be reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Robert, on Monday July 4, 2011 at her home with loved ones by her side. Marie was the beloved wife of 54 years to Robert R. Martin and daughter of the late Wilfred and Blanche (Bourassa) Violette. She was born on November 29, 1932 in Topsham, Maine and had resided in Enfield for 50 years. Marie retired from Lego, Inc. after many years of service. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Marie dedicated her life unselfishly to caring for her family and home. Leaving fond memories for her family to cherish she is survived by a son Wayne Martin of Las Cruces, NM, a daughter Sheryl Souer and her husband Jody of Enfield, her 6 beloved grandchildren Steven Napper, Kristin Napper, Amanda Timms and her husband Mark, Rick Martin, Stacy Souer and Heather Souer, a great grandson Adin Martin. She is also survived by three siblings Raymond Violette and his wife Janet of Fountain Hills, AZ, Jean Violette and his wife Terry of Colchester, CT and Lydia Louise Saucier and her husband Roland of Bristol, CT along with many nieces and nephews, a devoted and loving friend of the family she “adopted” as a daughter in her heart Susan Holeman Balon of Enfield, and her best friend Helen McCully of Enfield. Besides her parents and husband, Marie was predeceased by a son Bruce Martin, a daughter Judy L. Napper and three brothers Dennis, Louis and Wilfred Violette.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Friday (July 8, 2011) from 9:00 to 10:30 am at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Marie’s life at 11:00 am in St. Patrick Church (corner of Pearl & High Streets, Thompsonville). Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 3704 Memphis, TN 38173-3704.
