Martina “Marty” (Marinaccio) Piemonte Pederzoli, 94, beloved wife of the late Thomas Pederzoli, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2012 at HPH Hospice in New Port Richey, FL. Marty was born in Hartford, Connecticut and was one of ten children to the late Alesandrina and Teresio Marinaccio. She had resided in Enfield for most of her life, and was a 1936 graduate of Enfield High School. In 1978, Marty moved to Westbrook, and then to Florida in 2006 to be near her daughter. She had worked at The Hartford Insurance Company and retired after 25 years of service in 1979. Marty was a member of The Columbiettes in Westbrook for years; as well as President of the Women’s Club for the Hartford Insurance Company. She belonged to many organizations over the years and did much volunteer work everywhere she lived. Martina is survived by her son, Carl Piemonte and his wife, Ann of Enfield, her daughter, Andrea Engel and her spouse, Jack of Spring Hill, FL; three step children, Dianne and Vincent Marino of Windsor, Thomas and MaryEllen Pederzoli of Glastonbury, and Jane and David Czarnecki of Euphrata, PA. She also leaves behind six grandchildren whom she loved “a whole big bunch”, Lynn Piemonte; Karen Giordano; Christopher, Shawn, Blair, and Ryan Engel; eight step grandchildren, Lisa Ostrander; William, Kevin and Shawn Marino; Thomas and Justin Pederzoli; Naomi Stout; Carrie Fairchild, and David Czarnecki; nine great grandchildren, Carly and Thomas Giordano; Sean Patrick Kearney; Christopher, Hannah, Maya, Connor, Hayden and Riley Engel; 17 step great grandchildren, Nicholas and Daniel Ostrander; Jake, Riley, Dylan, Sarah, Jack and Katherine Marino; Shane and Tori Pederzoli; Austin Malbury; Carly, Paige, and Holden Fairchild; and Landon, Lexie and Dino Czarnecki. Marty also leaves her sisters-in-law, Helen Marinaccio and Viola Siana; and brothers-in-law Joseph Piemonte and David French; along with many nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved very much. She was predeceased by her nine brothers and sisters, Oswaldo, Anthony, Hugo, Alexander, Michael, Emma, Josephine, Anna and Carmelina. Martina was an amazing lady who touched so many lives and always took care of others before herself. She loved her family above all. Martina was strong, kind, joyful, and unique and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends will gather on Friday, January 27, 2012 by 9:00 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels for a procession to Holy Family Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Calling hours are Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082.
