Mary Q. Barrett, 82, of Enfield, passed away on Wednesday Jan. 4, 2017 at The Summit of Plantsville. She was the wife of 51 years to the late Eugene s. Barrett (2009). Mary was born on July 24, 1934 in Middletown, CT, a graduate of Manchester H.S. and had resided in Enfield for 58 years. Mary was an active member of the Enfield Congregational Church, where she was also in the Quilting Club and active with the Girl Scout Troup #1 Manchester since the early 1950’s. She enjoyed camping and had a great sense of humor and smile. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Shirley Barrett of New Britain and Laura Lemay and husband Bob of Enfield, her beloved grandchildren, Kymberly Barrett, Steven Lemay and wife Laura, Matthew Lemay and Gregory Lemay, along with many nieces. Mary was predeceased by her father, Alphonse and mother Marjorie, a daughter Dawna Barrett and a son Floyd Barrett. Her family wishes to thank the RN’s & Aides at The Summit of Plantsville for their kindness & compassion. Relatives and friends may gather with her family on Saturday Jan. 7, 2017 during calling hours from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service with Rev. Peter Wells officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Interment will then take place in the Enfield Street Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Enfield Loaves & Fishes, P. O. Box 544 Enfield, CT 06083-0544.
