Mary Wilby

Mary (Downey) Wilby, 84, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest, Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Parkway Pavilion Healthcare, Enfield. Born December 10, 1925 in Springfield, MA, Mary was the daughter of the late Laurence and Mary (Welch) Downey and was a life long resident of Enfield. Prior to her retirement in 1993, she was employed for 40 years as an accounting clerk with the Travelers Ins., Co. of Hartford, CT and was a member of St. Bernard's Church, Enfield. Mary is survived by her sister, Patricia Forand of Enfield; brother, Eugene R. Downey of Gardner, MA and sister-in-law, Judith B. Downey of Camp Hill, PA. She also leaves her special friend, Theresa Crabtree and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband, John Wilby and brothers, William and Lawrence Downey. Mary's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Parkway Pavilion for the exceptional and compassionate care given to her during her time there. Funeral Services for Mary will be held Friday August 28, 2009, at 9 A.M. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield followed by a 10 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard Church, Enfield. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery in Enfield. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 2 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
