Michael "Mike" Maheux

Michael “Mike” John Maheux, 49, of Ellington, passed from his earthly journey to eternal life on Jan. 12, 2014. He was the beloved husband of 24 years to Susan Jean (Wlazlo) Maheux. Michael was born on Oct. 24, 1964 in Hartford, CT, son of Roger M. & Pauline H. (Doucette) Maheux of Enfield. He resided in Enfield for most of his life and in Ellington for the past 2 years. Mike was employed with the Longmeadow, MA Fire Department for 22 years and was a volunteer with the North Thompsonville F.D. In his leisure time he enjoyed walking his dogs, spending time with Sue, and exploring the outdoors with his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed wood working and riding his motorcycle & quads. He loved being outside. He and Sue fostered and rescued dogs. He was always lending a helping hand to others and was an advocate of the fire service. Besides his wife and parents, Mike also leaves to mourn his passing; his dogs Lexi & Jake, his brother Scott Maheux & wife Donna of Ellington, his sister Susan McMurray & husband Sean of Enfield, and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal & maternal grandparents. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Thurs (Jan. 16, 2014) from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial & Remembrance Service at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Mike’s name may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675.
