Michael "Mike" Malley Obituary

Michael Thomas Malley, of Enfield, passed peacefully into eternal life at the age of 65 with loved ones at his side on Sunday December 9, 2012. He was the beloved husband of 46years, celebrated on Nov. 24, to Diane (Frangiamore) Malley and son of the late Francis and Jeannette (Rattell) Malley. Michael was born on Feb. 2, 1947 in Springfield, MA and had resided in Enfield for 65 years. He was a graduate of Enfield H.S. Class of 1964, while in high school Mike played basketball and Diane was a cheerleader and that’s how they met. After high school he continued his education at Defiance College, OH and Dean College, MA. Mike was a self-employed floor covering contractor for 27 years, retiring in May 2012 and worked at B.K.M, in East Hartford. He had a passion for golfing and enjoyed golf outings with his sons and daughter-in-law, Mike also coached basketball for the Enfield Parks & Rec’s Dept. for many years and was an avid corvette car enthusiast. Mike loved to watch his granddaughter Madison play soccer. Besides his beloved wife Diane, Mike is survived by his three loving children; Michael Malley and his wife Gerri of LaMoore, CA, Jay Malley and his wife Julie of East Windsor, and Brooke Hawkins and her husband Steve of Somers, his six cherished and adored grandchildren; Madison, Jacoby, Bryce Hawkins, Erin Malley and Jordan & Jenna Corby. Mike is also survived by a brother; Robert F. Malley of Enfield, a sister; Michelle Rice of TX, a special cousin; Kenny Sarno of Foxboro, MA, his two sisters-in-law; Nancy Tesla & husband Ray of Colchester, CT, Karen Kwiecienski & husband Paul of Enfield and a brother-in-law; Joe Frangiamore & wife Joyce of Enfield, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Thursday (Dec. 13, 2012) from 4 to 7 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service with Pastor Barry Andrusik officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Mike’s memory may be made to the Home & Community Health Services, Inc. Hospice Program P.O. Box 1199 Enfield, CT 06083-1199.
