Micheal Miskin

Micheal Eric Miskin of Suffield, CT died unexpectedly in Manchester, CT on December 28, 2016 at the age of 23. Micheal was born October 12, 1993 in Hartford, CT. He attended schools in Windsor, West Hartford and East Hartford before moving to Suffield in August 2000. Micheal’s potential was recognized in 2003 when the Governor’s Committee on Physical Fitness recognized A. Ward Spaulding School as the outstanding school in that year’s fitness test when compared with similar communities. Micheal was selected to receive the award as the outstanding Spaulding student based on his exemplary achievement in the Physical Education Program and personal success in that year’s statewide assessment. His certificate was presented to him by then Governor John G. Rowland at the State Capital in Hartford. He graduated from Suffield High School Class of 2011 with awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Consumer Mathematics and for Outstanding Academic Improvement for Continued Positive Attitude and Work Ethic. Beginning his junior year in High School, Micheal attended Asnuntuck Community College and was awarded a Certificate for Excellence in Welding along with a Certificate of Completion in Welding Technology Level 1 and 11. During his search for a path in life, Micheal worked with his Dad and various other contractors honing his carpentry skills and was working to establish his own business. An association since high school with Eric Kessler of Kessler Kennels in East Granby resulted in a very special bond. In addition to his work, Micheal traveled extensively in the U.S. and Europe adding to his cadre of life experiences and friends. Our beloved son, grandson, and friend Micheal shall be forever remembered for his love of the outdoors, fishing, skateboarding, quad riding, animals and travel. He leaves behind his mother, Jennifer Christiana of Suffield, her partner Peter Olko, III of Enfield, his Dad, Todd Miskin of Manchester, his Nana, June Christiana of Suffield, his grandfather, Roger Christiana of Enfield, special cousins Molly and Emily Daigle of West Hartford, and numerous friends and extended family. Friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Tuesday, January 3 ,2017 from 4:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Enfield Dog Park Action Committee (EDPAC) c/o Karen Ward, 6 Burnham Street, Enfield, CT 06082.
