Mildred (Rowell) Mason, 91, of Enfield passed from this life peacefully on Wednesday January 7, 2009 at Evergreen Healthcare, Stafford Springs. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Glenn J. Mason (2/20/98). Mildred was born on April 28, 1917 in New London, CT, daughter of the late George and Julia (Phillips) Rowell and had resided in Enfield most of her life. She was Grand Dame of the Red Hat Society, a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose life was dedicated to her loving family and leaves behind many fond memories for them to cherish. Mildred is survived by her children; David Mason and his wife, Mary of Pueblo, CO, Paul Mason and his wife, Shannon of Lawrence, KS, Beverly Rainville and her husband, David of Enfield, Pam Gaetani and her husband, Joseph of Enfield and Glenn Mason and his wife, Mary Jane of Windsor, her 16 beloved grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Candy Murray and Carol Ann Gordon. Funeral Services in celebration of Mildred's life will be held on Saturday January 10, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Carol Stine officiating, from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield interment will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday January 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. <br>Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Lung Cancer Alliance PO Box 630972 Baltimore, MD 21263 or the Home & Community Health Services, Hospice Program PO Box 1199 Enfield, CT 06083-1199.
