Nicanor "Nick" C. Cacicedo

Nicanor “Nick” C. Cacicedo, 71 of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Friday Oct. 9, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 28 years to Carol E. (Eckerson) Cacicedo. Nicanor was born on November 27, 1943 in Highland Park, Michigan to the late Jack and Elsie Cacicedo and had resided in Enfield for the past 32 years and in Michigan before that. Prior to retiring Nick was employed with the Hartford Public Library many years and with Costco for 9 years. He was a member of the Enfield Moose Lodge # 1525. In his leisure time Nick enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and friends. He loved hockey and was a Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Bears fan. Besides his wife Carol he is also survived by his eight children Lisa Babcock & husband Gordon, Nick Cacicedo & wife Alicia, Rick Cacicedo & wife Michelle all of Michigan, Mark Smith & wife Jill of Enfield, Michael Smith & wife Joann of Stafford Springs, Russell Smith & wife Tammy of Enfield, Jeffrey Smith & wife Belinda of Enfield and Kevin Smith & wife Shannon of Enfield, seventeen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nick was predeceased by three sisters Joanne Stites, Romona Muller and Delores Lauer. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during a visitation period on Tuesday Oct. 13, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Enfield Street Cemetery. His family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory be made to the Arthritis Foundation Southern N.E. Chapter, 35 Cold Spring Rd. Ste. 411 Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3166.
