Nicholas Archangelo Barile, 82, died Sunday January 15, 2012 at Evergreen Health Care with loved ones at his side. He was born on Aug. 15, 1929 in Hartford, CT son of the late Oscar and Agnes (Valano) Barile and had resided in Enfield for 30 years and East Windsor for the last 15years. Nicholas served his country honorably as a US Navy seaman from 1948 to 1952 at Quonsett Point, RI. He was a life member of the AMVETS Post 18, Enfield and the Green Manor Bowling League. Prior to retiring in 1992 he was employed with Hamilton Standard/Sundstrand for 39 years. He enjoyed playing set back at the AMVETS and trips to the casinos. He is survived by his son Bernard Barile and his companion Suzanne Femino of Glastonbury, his son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Amy Barile of Kensington, his daughter and son-in-law, Doreen & Michael Gelt of Enfield and his daughter, Janet Mailloux of Ellington. His seven beloved grandchildren; Jason Arcouette and his wife Michelle of Enfield, Heather Cosby and her husband Robert of Newman, GA, Jeffrey Gelt and his wife, Deanna of Plainville, Julie Prescott & her husband Roger of Arlington, MA, Allie Femino of Glastonbury and Marissa & Gianna Barile of Kensington. His eleven great grandchildren; Madison, Tyler & Brenden Arcouette, Benjamin, Mattea & Carson Cosby, Olivia Prescott and Zacary, Wyatt, Jeremiah & Kyle Gelt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Nicholas was predeceased by a sister Marie Crespan. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Thursday (January 19, 2012) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Nicholas life will be held on Friday January 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bernard’s Church 426 Hazard Ave. Enfield, with military honors to follow. Burial in St. Bernard’s Cemetery will be at the convenience of his family. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Evergreen Health Care Center Recreational Fund, 205 Chestnut Hill Rd. Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
