Nina J. Pierz, 84, of Suffield, entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on Saturday (October 30, 2010) at St. Francis Hospital Hartford, CT. She was the beloved wife of Steven A. Pierz, Sr. and daughter of the late Dominic and Esther (Tomeo) D’Amato. Nina was born on January 1, 1926 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, CT and had resided in Suffield for many years. She was co-owner and treasurer of Hardy Brush Co. in Suffield. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking. Besides her husband Steven of 67 years she is survived by her two sons Steven A. Pierz, II. and his wife Mary of Enfield and Scott A. Pierz of China, ME, her two beloved granddaughters, Erin Pierz-Gaudet and her husband Mark and Eileen L. Pierz and great grandchildren, Evan Mathew, Emmalie Shae, Avery Anne and Mackenzie Ann. She is also survived by a sister Marie Mathena of Rochester, NH along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a special Godchild Barbara O'Brien. She was predeceased by a brother Michael D’Amato. Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Wednesday (November 3, 2010) from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Thursday (November 4, 2010) with the funeral procession forming at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home to St. Adalbert Church 90 Alden Ave. Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. (Noon). Interment will take place in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Bernard’s School 232 Pearl St. Enfield, CT 06082
