Patricia (Gilbert) Girard

Patricia (Gilbert) Girard, of Enfield entered peacefully into eternal life at the age of 73 on Sunday (June 13, 2010) surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 11, 1937 in Vassaleboro, Maine, daughter of Clyde Gilbert and the late Hildegarde (LaChance) Gilbert and had resided in Enfield for the past 45 years and in Ware, MA before that. She was a 1985 graduate of Asnuntuck Community College for Nursing. Patricia was employed for 24 years with the former Enfield Nursing Center now Blair Manor in Enfield from 1985 to 2009. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Card Club. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading, trips to the casinos, going on cruises, playing cards, but mostly she loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Along with her father, Patricia is survived by her five loving children; Cindy Barber of East Hampton, Lori Maylott and husband, Russ of Enfield, Douglas Girard and wife, Margaret of Holyoke, MA, Scott Girard and wife, Chris of Stafford Springs and Brian Girard of San Diego, CA, her beloved grandchildren; Leah & Kristen Maylott, Nicole Barber, Sherrie, Joshua & Zachary Girard, Elizabeth & Valerie Girard and Julia Girard, and she will be especially missed by her feline companion “Mocha”. She is also survived by a sister; Gloria Immig and husband, Ed of Little River, SC, a sister-in-law; Betty Gilbert of Jupiter, FL along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, Patricia was predeceased by a brother; Leonard Gilbert. Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Thursday (June 17, 2010) from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd.
