Patricia Legienza

Patricia A. Legienza of Old Saybrook entered into eternal life at the age of 57 on Friday Dec. 24, 2010 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved daughter of Frank Legienza and the late Ann (Sonski) Legienza. Patricia was born on February 4, 1953 in Stafford Springs, she grew up in Enfield and resided in Essex for 5 years, for the past 20 years was a resident of Old Saybrook. Always an excellent student and intellectually curious she was a graduate of Enfield High School Class of 1971 having graduated with in the top 2% of her class & member of the National Honor Society. Furthering her education she graduated from Champlain College in Burlington, VT. Then in 1990 she received her Bachelors Degree from Central CT State University. Patricia was employed for 25 years with The Travelers Insurance Co. in Hartford. A passion for art, history and different cultures Patricia traveled literally all over the world and extensively abroad including such places as Paris, Italy, Asia, London, Spain, Africa, Russia, Austria, Peru, Israel, Egypt, Cuba, Iceland, Morocco, India, Turkey among many others. She was always attending art displays in the local area and lectures on cultures at Yale University as well as in New York City. She also enjoyed the Wadsworth Atheneum and New Britain Museum of Art, along with working out at the local gym and engaging in exercise classes. A wonderful and loving daughter and sister she will be terribly missed by her father Frank and her brother Thomas Legienza of Enfeld along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends in the Old Saybrook and Essex area. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM December 31, 2010 at Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield, CT. Burial will be private. Memorial donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield, CT 06082. Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield has been entrusted with her arrangements.
