Patricia Ann McGinity, 85, of Enfield, entered into eternal peace on St. Patrick's Day (3/17/09) her favorite holiday, at home. Born in Burlington, VT, the daughter of the late Patrick and Sarah (McKeon) McGinity and had resided in Enfield since 1933. Patricia graduated from St. Joseph School in 1935 and Enfield High School Class of 1943. In 1986 she retired from The Travelers Ins. Co. of Hartford after forty one years of service. She was a volunteer at St. Martha School in Enfield for 20 years, having had an 8th grade class dedicate their yearbook in her honor. Patricia was a recipient of the Presidential Award for volunteer of the Year and Archdiocese of Hartford Volunteer of the Year Award. She was also a 23 year member of St. Patrick's Church Small Christian Communities Group. Patricia is survived by her cousins; Kay and Elliott Stratton of Springfield, MA, Jimmy and Barbara Leonard of Chicopee, MA, Mary McGinity of Springfield and their families, Dr. John and Celeste Senechal of Tolland, CT, David Senechal, of Stafford, Ailene and Dr. Tom Desmond of Edison, NJ, Philip and Dr. Diane Deely of Phil., PA and Paul and JoAnne Senechal of Windsor, CT. She also leaves her dear friend, Alice Riley of Enfield, along with many other friends and extended family at St. Joseph's Residence. Patricia was predeceased by her sister Ailene McGinity. Her family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the Little Sisters of the Poor and staff. Funeral Services in celebration of Patricia's life will be held at St. Joseph's Residence/ Little Sisters of the Poor with calling hours on Friday March 27, 2009 from 2 to 7:30 p.m. along with a Legion of Mary Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Chapel. Burial will take place in St. Genevieve Cemetery, Shoreham, VT at the family's convenience.
