Patricia "Pat" A. Dennis Obituary

Patricia “Pat” A. (Mansfield) Dennis, of Enfield, entered into the arms of the Lord on Thursday Oct. 15, 2015. Pat was the adopted daughter of John and Ethel Mansfield of Cornwall, CT and she considered it a privilege to grow up in the Cornwall/Canaan area. Pat was a proud member of the Class of 1956 at Housatonic Valley Regional High, and took great pride in being on the committee for the various class reunions. Pat left home after graduation, with her best friend, Paula, and headed for the Capitol city to secure a job. Her first job, at Hartford National Bank, is where she met her husband, John, and where she made many life-long friends. Later, as her family grew, she attended Asnuntuck Community College, and worked until her retirement at Alstom Power in Windsor. In retirement she became active with the Enfield Senior Center where she was president, for several years, of the Friends of the Enfield Senior Center. During this time she was the planner and group leader for many senior center trips to various parts of the country, and loved being with these people. Many became her followers and friends. Pat was also a founding member of Holy Family Parish, where over the years she taught CCD and co-directed the Women’s Guild. She remained an active member until the end. Pat was the beloved wife of John Dennis for 54 years. She considered her greatest blessing and treasure being mother to her daughter Colleen Mary (Dennis) Keating and her husband Tom, and her son John “Chuck” Dennis and his wife Thu. She loved them with an unending and unconditional love. Over the years she spent many hours with her beloved granddaughter, Valerie, and her darling grandson, Tyler. Friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Monday Oct. 19, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Oct. 20, with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home to Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in Pat’s memory may be made to the Friends of the Enfield Senior Center, 299 Elm St. Enfield, CT 06082 or the Redemptorist Fathers Provincial Residence, 7509 Shore Rd. Brooklyn, NY 11209.
