Paul T. Whitehead, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal rest at the age of 87 on Monday (Feb. 20, 2012) at the Suffield House with loved ones by his side. He was the beloved husband of 27years to Judith (Hatch) Whitehead and son of the late Jay and Louise Whitehead. Paul was born on Nov. 16, 1924 in Waterbury, CT and resided in Enfield for 25 years. He was a graduate of Rogers High School, Newport, RI and went onto receive his Bachelor’s Degree from URI. Before retiring Paul was employed as a Director at the Springfield Civic Center, he also worked for Suffield Bank and National Car Rental. Paul served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a member of the Gold Tones Choral Group and in his leisure time he enjoyed spending time with his family especially the grandchildren. Besides his wife Judith, Paul is survived by his children; Janice Fletcher and husband Gil of N. Kingston, RI, Daniel Hatch and wife Faith of Springfield, MA, Ruth-Anne Monroe and husband Jim of Enfield, CT, Timothy Hatch of Enfield, CT, Tracey Morin and husband William of Enfield, CT and Jody Balboni and husband Michael of Granby, CT, along with his 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 1st wife Shirley Whitehead, his daughter Terri Fisher and his sister Phyllis Tiexiera. His family would like to thank the staff in Unit B at the Suffield House for the exceptional and compassionate care given to Paul and for support to the family. There are no calling hours. Relatives and friends may gather with his family on Saturday (Feb. 25, 2012) for a Funeral Service at the Enfield Congregational Church, 1295 Enfield Street Enfield, CT at 11:00 a.m. followed by military honors. Burial will be at the convenience of his family in Jamestown, RI. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations in his name be made to the American Diabetes Association 2080 Silas Deane Highway 2nd Floor Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
