Peter "Mr. G." Gadarowski

Peter Paul Gadarowski, of Enfield Ct, passed away on Thursday Nov 18, at the age of 93 at Parkway Pavilion Healthcare. “Mr. G” as he was affectionately known to all was born on June 10, 1917 in Willimantic CT. He served in the Army during WWII on board a US Navy mine swepper and in the Air Force Reserves during the Vietnam Conflict. He was an active member of the John Maciolek Post 154 American Legion and AMVETS Post 18. Known for his loyalty to his fellow veterans, “Mr. G” honored them by playing taps at military funerals throughout CT and MASS. He was a parishioner of St Patrick’s Catholic Church and an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 50 Enfield and the 4th Degree Rev. William Kilcoyne Assembly. Mr. G’s devotion to children was highlighted by his love and support of the Boy Scouts and his work in the after school program at Alcorn Elementary School. He leaves behind the SMG Memorial Boy Scout Camp in Brimfield, Mass. Mr. G is survived by 2 sons, John Joseph Gadarowski & his wife, Linda of Centennial, Colorado and Edward Philip Gadarowski & his wife, Nancy of Cambridge, NY. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and one sister, Catherine Gadarowski of Bethel, CT. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Frances Gadarowski, a daughter, Cecilia Ann, three sons, Robert Paul, Thomas Michael, and Stephen Matthew, two sisters, Genevieve Harris, and Blanche Woodward, and four brothers, Reverend Monsignor Bronislaw Gadarowski, Thaddeus Gadarowski, John J. Gadarowski Sr., and Frank Gadarowski. The family wishes to thank the staff at Parkway Pavilion for the kind and compassionate care during his time there. Relatives and friends may gather with his family on Monday (Nov. 22) from 3:30 until 7:30 PM at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapel, 43 Shaker Rd, Enfield CT. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday (Nov. 23) with the procession forming at 9 am from the funeral home to St Patrick’s Church in Thompsonville, CT for a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial. Burial with military honors will take place at St Joseph’s Cemetery in Willimantic, CT following the service. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
