Peter "Pete" Bellico

Peter “Pete” A. Bellico, 104, of Enfield, beloved husband of sixty-three years to the late Jennie (Bruno) Bellico, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Residence in Enfield. Born on July 27, 1908 in the Hazardville section of Enfield, Peter was the son of the late Concetto and Concetta (Gelsomina) Bellico. A lifelong resident of Enfield, Peter was a communicant and usher at St. Patrick Church. He was a longtime member of the Mt. Carmel Society where he looked forward to being with his fellow members and being involved with the preparations for the annual feast. Peter was employed with the former Bigelow Sanford Carpet Company for thirty-three years, Combustion Engineering and General Electric from where he retired in 1973. He was also a salesman with Knapp Shoes for many years. Following his retirement, Pete enjoyed helping out at his son-in-law’s former business, Enfield Square Opticians. Peter was a loving family man and his greatest joy was being surrounded by his family. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and UCONN Men’s and Women’s Basketball. In his leisure time, Pete enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and sharing his tomatoes with others. He is survived by his daughter, Joanne Ames and her husband, Robert of Broad Brook; two grandchildren, Sharon Dupuis and her husband, Joseph of Ledyard, and Tricia Springer and her husband, Todd of East Granby; four great grandchildren, Renee and Evan Dupuis, and Jenna and Sarah Springer; his brother, George Bellico of Enfield; and many nephews and nieces. Peter was predeceased by his twin brother, Philip; his brothers, Joseph and Russell; two sisters, Rose Sullivan and Mary Locario; and his great granddaughter, Mary Ames Dupuis.
