Obituary
Philip Peter Caronna, 90 of Enfield was born on May 27, 1918 in Thompsonville, CT and was carried home to God on January 15, 2009. He had worked at the Bigelow Sanford Carpet, Co. before serving his country with U.S. Army during WWII as a member of the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment in Europe and Africa. Philip worked along side his brothers and sister in the family business, Caronna's Market. He was a faithful servant of St. Patrick Church and received the St. Joseph Medal of Appreciation in 2002. Besides his beloved wife Laura, Philip leaves his 3 daughters and one son; Maria Landry and her husband, Bill; Christine Blakely and her husband, John; Teresa Rose and her fiancé, Michael Panella and Phil Caronna and his wife, Michele; eight special grandchildren; Jonathan and Peter Landry; Anna, Grace, and Nora Blakely; Carl Cox; Olivia and Reno Caronna. He also leaves 3 brothers and 2 sisters; Joseph Caronna, Anthony Caronna & his wife Betty; Sam Caronna; Vincy Discenza and Angie Panek; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Philip was predeceased by a brother, Frank Caronna and two sisters, Anna Noto and Mary Lamphire. A celebration of Philip's life will begin on Sunday January 18, 2009 with his family receiving relatives and friends from 2 to 6 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, concluding on Monday January 19, 2009 with a funeral procession forming at 9 a.m. at the funeral home to St. Patrick's Church for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to EWTN 5817 Old Leeds Rd.
