Phyllis Rice Obituary

Phyllis Suizdak Rice 79, entered into eternal peace on Saturday (January 12, 2008) at Hartford Hospital, Hartford. Phyllis was born in Hartford and attended Hartford Public Schools. She had resided in Enfield since 1963. Before retiring several years ago Phyllis was employed by the former Connecticut Bank & Trust, the former Brown Thompsons Restaurant, also the former W.T Grants and later by the former Caldor's Department Store for 18 years. Phyllis dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved very much. She was predeceased by her 1st husband Stanley Suizdak and 2nd husband Donald Rice on Dec. 11, 1989. Phyllis is survived by a son, Robert Suizdak and Gloria Smole of Enfield, a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Paul Santanella of Enfield, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rebecca Suizdak of East Taunton, MA, a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and William Hayes of Gray Court SC, a son, John Suizdak of Enfield, a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Manuel Ferreira of Springfield, MA, nine grandchildren, Paul, Jr., Kelly, Angela, Melissa, Jennifer, Michael, Kimberly, Lindsay, and Jacob, nine great grandchildren, Madilyn, Brianna, Ben, Caleb, Travis, Owen, Jeffrey, Madison, and Brayden. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Nicki Rogers of Arizona, a cousin, Sr. Joan Marie of Enfield along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Bradley and Patty Umphreys. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held Wednesday January 16, 2008 at 9 am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Patrick's Church Pearl & High Streets, Enfield. Burial will be in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery.
