Phyllis (Daigle) Stefaniak, 74 of Enfield, died peacefully on Sunday Aug. 2, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts on May 2, 1941, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Philip and Mildred (Martin) Daigle. She was a graduate of Rockville High School and resided in Enfield for most of her life. Phyllis was a former communicant of St. Martha Church. She was employed as a nursing assistant with Parkway Pavilion for twenty seven years and retired in 2012. Phyllis enjoyed the outdoors, especially kayaking, skiing, gardening and traveling to her vacation home in Vermont, as well as spending time with her family and many good friends. Despite the many trials in her life she managed to overcome them never complaining. She didn’t shy away from challenges and was always ready for new adventures and looked at the positive side of things and the good in others. Phyllis is survived by her children, Deborah Stefaniak of Enfield, Robert P. Stefaniak and his companion Joann Nasuta of Manchester, Glen D. Stefaniak and his companion Annette Houle of Enfield; three grandchildren, Nicole Mancuso and her husband Nino Nolasco, Samantha Bednarz and her husband, Keith and Lauren Stefaniak and her companion Joseph Gannuscio, II; three great-grandchildren, Joseph Gannuscio, III, Mari Nolasco and Wyatt Bednarz; her brother, Robert Daigle and his wife, Nancee of Maine. Family and friends will gather on Saturday Aug. 8, 2015by 9:15 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels for a procession to St. Adalbert Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday Aug. 7, 2015from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial Donations be made to the Enfield Food Shelf, P. O. BOX 699, 96 Alden Avenue, Enfield, CT 06083.
