Obituary
Raffaella M. (Giancarlo) Bopko, 91, of Enfield entered into eternal life peacefully on Monday Jan. 3, 2005 at St. Joseph's Residence, Enfield. She was the widow of Stephen Bopko (1991). Raffaella was born on Sept. 21, 1913 in New York City, NY, daughter of the late Vincent & Maria (Revelli) Giancarlo. Mrs. Bopko made her home at St. Joseph's Residence for the past 7 yrs and in Broad Brook for 7 yrs prior to that. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiette's and a former member of the Good Shepard Parish in NYC.
Raffaella is survived by her loving family, two sons and daughters in law; Raymond & Maria Bopko of Broad Brook and Paul & Johanna Bopko of Scotsdale, AZ, her 7 beloved grandchildren; Christopher, Renae, Jeffrey, Keith, Danielle, Mandy & Robin and 5 great grandchildren; Joshua, Lilith, Seth, Jacob and Haylee. She also leaves 5 siblings, Mary Mongelli, Frank Giancarlo, Michael Giancarlo, Felicia Neal and Anthony Giancarlo, along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a son Stephen Bopko, Jr. (1990) and a grandson; Mathew Bopko.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Raffaella will be held on Friday Jan. 7, 2005 at 10:30 am in St. Joseph's Chapel at St. Joseph's Residence, Enfield interment will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery Broad Brook. Mrs. Bopko's family will receive relatives and friends on Thurs. Jan. 6, 2005 from 4 to 8 pm at St. Joseph's Residence. Memorial donations in her memory maybe made to the Little Sisters of the Poor at St. Joseph's Residence 1365 Enfield St. Enfield, CT 06082.
