Ralph Fiore Obituary

Ralph J. Fiore, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal life at the age of 93 on Tuesday (November 13, 2012) at Parkway Pavilion Healthcare. Ralph was the beloved husband of 56 years to Eleanor (Migliore) Fiore and son of the late Salvatore and Julia (Alaimo) Fiore. He was born on September 27, 1919 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Enfield High School. Ralph served his country honorably with the U.S. Army during WW II. Ralph retired from Aetna Life Insurance in 1984 and was employed with Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. and Kaman Aircraft. He was charter member of the Rinaldi-Fede Post, AARP and parishioner of St. Patrick Church. Having had a passion for Big Band music Ralph played the Clarinet and Alto Saxophone and was associated with several musical groups throughout the area in his younger days, he also loved traveling, an avid fan of the NY Yankees he enjoyed taking his son to Yankee Stadium and also the Yale Bowl to see the ivy league rivals, he also enjoyed gardening having had a green thumb when it came to growing vegetables especially his huge zucchini’s he generously shared his crop with everyone. Besides his wife, Eleanor he is also survived by a daughter Laurie Fiore Toohey & husband Jeffrey of Ellington, a son Russell Fiore & wife Pauline of Enfield, his three cherished grandchildren; Angela Fiore, Amanda Fiore and Jenna Toohey, his brother Joseph Fiore & wife Mary of Enfield along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Bennie Fiore. The Fiore family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff at Parkway Pavilion for the care and compassion shown to Ralph during his time there. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Friday (November 16, 2012) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held Saturday (November 17, 2012) with the procession forming at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Patrick Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Patrick Old Cemetery Thompsonville section of Enfield.
