Raymond William Grandon, Sr., 86, lifelong resident of Enfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday April 27, 2014. He was born on November 12, 1927 in Enfield, CT, the son of the late Lillian LaGrange-Grandon. He was previously employed by Hamilton Standard. Raymond was an avid NASCAR racing fan and enjoyed watching UCONN women’s basketball games. He served as a Merchant Marine and was a Seabee in the South Pacific. Raymond was re-assigned to the Navy aircraft carrier U.S.S. Wright during WW II. Raymond is survived by his dear friend Helen Grandon, his beloved children; Gail Grandon, Caron Grandon, Raymond Grandon, Jr. & wife Laurie, Catherine DiSalvo & husband Peter, his grandchildren; Brian Redfern & his late wife Pamela Diamond-Redfern, Christopher Redfern & wife Jennifer, Nicholas Grandon, Kelly Love & her husband Edward, Joshua Venn, and Jennifer Venn, great grandchildren; Grace & Cooper and his beloved pets. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Friday May 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield.
